CDL Driver 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars 2318 Waverly Barn Road, Davenport, FL 33897 Full-time Sun Orchard LLC 52 reviews Full-time Operates a tractor-trailer to transport cargo to and from specified destinations, following all DOT guidelines and Sun Orchard policies and procedures. Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. Oversees loading of trailer at the plant and off-site locations, making sure all contents are secure to prevent damages during transportation and receives all proper documentation for transit. Unloads trailer at locations. Maintains professionalism with everyone contacted, whether it be a supplier, 3PL, or employee, as this position is the face of the company. Maintains contact with dispatchers to receive delivery or pick-up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick-up. Maintaining logbooks detailing the hours traveled, rest periods, miles covered, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses. Must be capable and qualified to operate a forklift and all heavy trailer equipment. Operates all equipment safely, maintaining proper speeds and clearances to ensure all personnel, materials, and equipment are always safe. Maintains tractors and trailers in a clean and organized fashion, including washing and cleaning it and monitoring tire pressure. Reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately. Must promptly report any traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to supervisor. Assists in activities as required to maintain the warehouse. Must participate in the DOT Random Testing Program as dictated by DOT. Responsible for turning equipment in to rental companies for scheduled preventive maintenance. Follows all DOT requirements, GMPs, SOPs, company policies, procedures and safety rules. Other duties as assigned or required
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
4+ years commercial driving experience required. Must hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and valid DOT Medical Card in order to operate a commercial motor vehicle. Must have sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
Endorsements:
For OTR:
Tanker Endorsement required and Hazmat Endorsement preferred
Language/Communications:
Ability to read and interpret basic instructional details and related information.
Reasoning:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands:
The employee may be required to stand, walk and sit for long periods at a time, wear the proper protective equipment as required, climb a ladder or stairs, hear and communicate readily, use both hands and arms.
Work Environment:
This position is performed in an outside, office and manufacturing environment. There may be exposure to noise, work near moving mechanical parts and forklifts, citrus fumes or airborneparticles, and outdoor weather conditions. Use of telephone, cell phones, a computer, copier, and other office equipment will be required.
