In this vital role, you will operate a variety of commercial trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate various types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight over short and long distances. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit. Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain detailed records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and route documentation for compliance purposes. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays. Assist with warehouse duties when necessary, including organizing freight and preparing shipments for transport. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks. Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery and route driving. Skilled in handling manual transmission vehicles and operating specialized equipment such as forklifts when required. Knowledge of safety procedures related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards. Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while maintaining safety protocols. Experience with different truck types including roll-off trucks and tanker trucks is preferred. Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections, route planning, and documentation accuracy.
