SUMMARY T

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate all models of transit buses. Transport customers and assists them in making important travel decisions. Employer has dress code. Support customers with travel related questions and issues. Follow an assigned route, collect and report passenger fares and ridership in an accurate manner. Assist customers using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Communicate with team members, complete written reports and forms. Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and guidelines. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, noting any mechanical failures on an Operator Daily Report Sheet/Bus Log Sheet. Adhere to fixed route procedures, including making verbal announcement of major intersections along the designated route. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL SET AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred 12 months experience preferred, but not required Customer service experience required Must have a Florida Class A or B driver's license with a passenger "P" endorsement and air brakes certification Availability to work varying shifts, hours, days, and locations. Monday to Friday. Weekend availability Employer will conduct annual physical examination and alcohol/drug test. Must be knowledgeable of the Ocala street network. Must have a special attention for the needs of the transit dependent, elderly and disabled. Employer will conduct pre-employment drug testing and MVR checking. Employer may have additional requirements. Transit Driver Paid Training Provided

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting, walking, standing, bending neck (up and down), twisting neck (side to side), twisting and bending waist (forward or sideways), squatting (similar to the bowling position), climbing, kneeling (to bend on one knee), simple grasping, controlled grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, reaching above/below/at shoulder height and lifting/carrying 0 - 30 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full Time. Multiple shifts available. SALARY $17.50 per hour.
