Job Summary We are seeking dependable, safety-conscious Class A CDL Drivers for local and regional runs across South and Central Florida. This local driving position focuses on short-haul operations, with the longest run typically capped at 120 miles , ensuring drivers are home daily . Drivers will operate specialized heavy equipment, including liquid fertilizer tankers, tile and sand end dumps, leachate water tankers, and roofing tile flatbeds. Primary Responsibilities
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, performing minor repairs, or washing trucks.
- Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
- Drive trucks with capacities greater than 13 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products.
- Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
- Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
- Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
- Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations.
Local Freight Transport:
Safely haul liquid fertilizers, sand, gravel, water, and building materials to local and commercial sites.
Drop & Hook Operations:
Efficiently drop and hook trailers to optimize local turnaround times.
Vehicle Inspections:
Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip FMCSA safety inspections on tractor-trailers.
Load Securement:
Ensure heavy cargo, liquid tanks, and flatbed materials are safely loaded and secured according to regulations.
Compliance Logging:
Maintain clean driving logs and strictly adhere to DOT regulations and hours-of-service limitations.
Customer Service:
Communicate professionally with dispatchers, farmers, and commercial clients at delivery sites.
Qualifications & Requirements License:
Valid Commercial Driver's License ( Class A CDL ) in good standing.
Endorsements:
Tanker Endorsement is strictly required due to liquid hauling operations.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience is

Driving Record:
Must possess a clean driving record with no serious violations.
Medical:
Ability to pass a standard DOT physical and mandatory drug screening .
Physical Stamina:
Capable of climbing, chaining flatbeds, and handling heavy hoses or trailer hookups as required by specialized trailers. Must be Authorized to work in the UNITED STATES
