Locally owned and operated for over 70 years, we offer competitive pay, strong benefits, and long-term growth opportunities. Our projects include site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, and public infrastructure work throughout the Tampa Bay area. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a CDL Dump Truck Driver to support our team in the Brandon/Riverview area.
Operating the truck:
Safely driving large dump truck on designated routes within a site, maneuvering in tight spaces, and following traffic controls.
Loading and unloading:
Coordinating with loading equipment to properly fill the truck and dumping the material at designated locations.
Pre-shift inspections:
Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of the truck, including checking tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, and overall mechanical condition.
Maintaining logs:
Keeping accurate records of loads hauled, hours worked, and any operational issues.
Safety compliance:
Adhering to all safety regulations, reporting any hazards or incidents to supervisors, and actively participating in safety training.
Communication:
Maintaining communication with dispatchers, loaders, and other site personnel regarding load requirements and potential delays.
Basic maintenance:
Performing minor repairs or reporting necessary maintenance issues.
Required skills and qualifications:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL): A valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy haul trucks.
Experience with heavy equipment:
Prior experience operating large vehicles in a mining, construction, or industrial setting.
Strong safety awareness:
Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Physical fitness:
Ability to withstand the demands of a physically demanding job, including climbing in and out of the truck and working in potentially harsh weather conditions.
Basic mechanical knowledge:
Understanding of truck systems and ability to perform basic maintenance checks.
Work environment:
Primarily outdoors, working in various weather conditions. Often located in remote mining or construction sites. Exposure to dust, noise, and vibrations.
