Part-Time, Local (Home Daily) Job Summary Shogun Farms is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Local Farm Driver to support daily farm and supplier operations. This position involves operating heavy-duty trucks, a refrigerated (reefer) van, and pulling various types of trailers for local pickups, deliveries, and farm-related transportation tasks. The ideal candidate has strong driving skills, excellent safety habits, and can communicate professionally with vendors and team members. This person also has the ability to be a team player and help on the farm with fences, mowing, truck cleaning, and other tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities Safely operate heavy-duty trucks and a reefer van for local routes Pick up and deliver supplies from vendors and partner locations Transport farm-related materials, livestock, equipment, and products as needed Properly hook up, secure, and tow all trailer types, including: Enclosed trailers Livestock trailers Dump trailers Gooseneck trailers Standard hitch trailers Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections Follow all company driving and safety policies at all times Communicate clearly with vendors, dispatch, and farm staff in person and over the phone Maintain accurate documentation related to driving and deliveries Keep vehicles clean, organized, and in good working condition Help with other farm tasks including truck and trailer upkeep, assist with fencing or other small projects, mowing, etc. Represent Shogun Farms professionally while on the road Required Qualifications Clean driving record Strong driving safety skills and situational awareness Experience & confidence driving heavy-duty trucks and pulling trailers Ability to safely and confidently tow multiple trailer configurations Knowledge of proper trailer hookup, load securement, and inspections Know how to properly and safely rig load when necessary. Ability to pass drug testing Must be able to speak and understand English Strong communication skills and professionalism Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded Preferred Qualifications CDL (Class A) is a plus but not required Prior experience in agriculture, farming, livestock, or related industries Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds Ability to assist with loading and unloading supplies, equipment, pallets, and bins Ability to work around heavy equipment and assist equipment operators with safe loading and unloading procedures Must be able to properly rig and secure loads when required, including use of straps, chains, binders, and tie-downs Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers repeatedly throughout the day Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach as required by job tasks Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain Must be able to maintain physical stamina for a full workday in an active farm environment Pay Range (Tampa / Seffner Market) $19•$23 per hour , depending on experience, equipment knowledge, and CDL status Drivers with extensive trailer experience, livestock hauling familiarity, or a CDL may qualify for the higher end of the range.
