Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Yard Jockey/Driver and become the vital link in our logistics operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely maneuvering tractor-trailers and freight around our yard, ensuring efficient loading, unloading, and route driving. Your expertise in truck driving, including manual transmission and various trailer types such as refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off, and freight trailers, will keep our operations running smoothly. This position offers a fast-paced environment where your skills in commercial driving and yard management will make a real impact every day. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions to move freight within the yard and to designated routes Load and unload freight from different trailer types including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off truck, and freight trailers Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations Maneuver trucks accurately in tight yard spaces, maintaining safety protocols at all times Assist with route driving for deliveries when needed, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods Operate forklifts where necessary to handle freight or equipment within the yard Maintain accurate logs of all movements, deliveries, and inspections for compliance purposes Experience Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving roles with a focus on yard operations or route delivery Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailer configurations Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or freight trailers is highly preferred Prior delivery driver experience demonstrating load & unload skills and route management Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently is a plus Knowledge of safety procedures related to freight handling and vehicle operation This role is perfect for motivated drivers eager to showcase their skills in a fast-moving environment.
