Responsibilities Operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles with precision and safety. Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Drive along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations while maintaining optimal delivery schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels. Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery times and address any route or schedule changes promptly. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating different truck types such as manual transmission vehicles, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, or specialized equipment. Proven experience in truck driving, delivery routes, or related roles with a focus on freight transportation. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely. Experience with load & unload procedures and handling various freight types. Familiarity with route driving strategies to optimize efficiency while ensuring safety standards are met. Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving large vehicles and handling different cargo loads like roll-off or dump trucks. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when required for loading or unloading cargo. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers.
