CDL Driver/Chemical Transfer Specialist:

You will work with a trainer and mentor who will develop you over time. As a driver, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering chemicals in drums to our customer job sites in a safe and professional manner. All employees are expected to follow company rules and procedures. No Hazmat experience? No problem. We provide training on the safe handling, loading, and delivery of chemicals, and will assist qualified employees in obtaining their Hazmat endorsement. A Hazmat endorsement is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Essential Functions:
  • 50% driving for delivery purposes.
  • 15% Loading and properly securing materials on truck.
  • 35% Unloading at customers site, moving drums to tank location and safely transferring chemicals for drums to tanks.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate assigned truck safely at all times in accordance with company policies and federal state and local laws.
  • Perform and document daily equipment pre-inspection reports.
  • Maintain time sheet and daily driving logs as required by DOT regulations.
  • Organize and properly secure every load.
  • Check orders for accuracy prior to departure from the facility.
  • Deliver and unload material according to customer requirements.
  • Use company issued PPE properly and drum handling equipment.
  • Ensure delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional service at delivery site.
  • Record all items not delivered and empty drums returned for proper credit to customers.
  • Assist in unloading and properly storing of empty containers.
  • Communicate with office regarding and delivery discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Ensure all paperwork is complete and turned into office at end of each run.
  • Pickup material from vendors as directed by management.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the inside and outside of assigned vehicle.
  • Report any and all mishaps or accidents as soon as practical after occurrence.
  • Cooperate fully with law enforcement during, i.e. roadside inspections, etc.
  • Complies with all company safety standards.
  • Attends all meetings and training sessions.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by management.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 21 years old (insurance requirement)
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one-year continuous, verifiable Hazmat endorsement driving experience
  • Meet the driver eligibility established by Wrico Corporation.
  • Possess and maintain a current Class A Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat endorsement issued by the State of Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Pass a DOT Medical Examination and Drug test.
  • Read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand traffic signs and signals and to respond to official inquiries.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions or memos written in English.
  • Must successfully complete all Company training and certification requirements Physical demands and abilities:
  • Repetitive movement of hands arms and legs while operating truck.
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures and adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to load drums onto truck and properly secure from movement.
  • Must be able to move drums and dolly them use upper body strength.
