As a Jockey Driver, you will play a vital role in efficiently maneuvering commercial vehicles within warehouse yards, loading docks, and distribution centers to facilitate smooth freight movement. Your expertise in various types of heavy and light-duty vehicles will ensure timely loadings, unloadings, and repositioning of equipment and cargo. This position offers an energetic environment where your driving skills knowledge will directly contribute to operational excellence. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including yard jockeys, flatbeds, box trucks, and tractor-trailers to move freight within warehouse yards and distribution facilities Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate load placement and efficient yard flow Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and team members regarding vehicle status, route changes, or delays Follow all safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment Qualifications Proven experience operating commercial vehicles such as yard jockeys Strong driving skills Mechanical knowledge related to truck maintenance and troubleshooting basic issues Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and dispatchers Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission vehicles preferred Knowledge of safety procedures for moving heavy loads and operating within warehouse environments Join us as a Jockey Driver and become an essential part of our fast-paced logistics operation!
