Tow Truck Driver/Mechanic

Responsibilities Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles from accident scenes, breakdowns, or parking violations Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs when necessary to ensure vehicle safety during transport Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure handling at all times Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, including vehicle condition reports, location details, and time stamps Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate vehicle recovery operations Manage conflict situations professionally by providing excellent customer service and resolving issues calmly and efficiently Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment to ensure safety standards are met and perform minor mechanical repairs as needed Assist with automotive repair tasks when required, leveraging mechanical knowledge and mechanic experience to troubleshoot issues Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during vehicle transportation to ensure safety for yourself and others Qualifications Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, especially tow trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair tools Ability to operate specialized equipment such as flatbeds, forklifts, or other lifting devices safely and efficiently Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts professionally in high-pressure situations Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL license preferred but not mandatory depending on jurisdiction Knowledge of load securing procedures and safety regulations related to vehicle towing and transport Prior experience with automotive diagnostics or mechanic work is highly desirable Why you'll love it here We're dedicated to empowering our team members by fostering a lively work environment where your skills shine.
