Dump Truck Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver materials efficiently across various job sites. Duties Safely operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or construction supplies using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods. Follow designated routes for delivery and collection, maintaining punctuality and efficiency throughout the day. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance needs in compliance with company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Assist with the setup of loads on trucks when necessary, ensuring proper securing of freight such as refrigerated trailers or tanker loads. Qualifications Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial driving environment. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation; experience with tractor-trailers preferred. Knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols specific to freight transportation. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts for loading or unloading cargo safely. Familiarity with different types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting skills. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
