Delivery Job Description:
Job includes but is not limited to: Safely and quickly delivering loads of goods on designated routes as determined by Dispatcher to customers in a manner that meets customer requirements. Verify count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded. Make reports of overages, shortages and breakage/damage as needed. Unload or assist in unloading freight as required. Properly secure loads and assure loads are within weight limits. Follow all D.O.T. regulations and company safety requirements at all times. Report any incidents or accidents immediately and document with pictures, and reports in the event they occur. Daily pre
- trip and post-trip inspections reporting any problems or defects to management immediately.
Serve as a representative of the company by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner.
Physical Requirements Job Functions:
The ability to read and follow printed or digital information and instructions to deliver the proper goods in a quick, self-reliant, and efficient manner.
Equipment:
The ability to pass all requirements for driving a CDL tractor and trailer in a safe and efficient manner, while wearing and using any safety equipment such as safety glasses, non-slip hard soled puncture resistant shoes, high visibility outerwear and any other safety equipment deemed necessary.
Work Conditions:
The ability to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant and intermittent sounds. The ability to navigate roadways in a safe manner, and safely navigate and park at destination points along said route.
Climbing:
Must possess the ability to climb into the trailer and in and out of the truck cab, using the available steps and ladders that are built in.
Manual Dexterity:
The ability to make quick accurate, skillful, coordinated movements of both hands in coordination with its arms, to grasp, place, move, steer the vehicle, deliver goods, and open the curtains on the trailer and the back doors of the trailer to facilitate delivery. Coordinated with the ability to use eye and hand coordination to determine proper distances and levels when driving and moving product from the trailer to the ground for customer delivery.
Lifting Capabilities:
Possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, multiple times daily without assistance. Or up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required method is to have a partner or use available tools for any object over 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Must be 23 Years of age or older Must pass DOT drug screen Must pass DOT physical Must possess and maintain a valid CDL Must have a minimum 2 years driving experience Must pass a Road Test with qualified Woolf Trainer MVR No DUI's within the last 5 years No more than 4 moving violations within the last 3 years Cell phone ticket disqualifies within the last 2 years Excessive, repeated violation in the last 3 years disqualifies No more than 3 jobs in the last 12 months Violations for any of the following in the last 5 years is immediate disqualification
- Excessive speeding, 15 mph over the speed limit
- Reckless Driving Erratic Lane Changes Following too close
- Violation in connection with a fatal accident Driving a CMV without a CDL
- Driving a CMV without the CDL in the drivers possession Driving a CMV without the proper class or endorsements
- Prior violations are to be questioned
- History over 5 years will be evaluated for severity, recurrence, and if no recent history will not be counted against the driver.
