In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks—including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Load and unload freight accurately and efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Deliver freight along designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols. Secure loads properly for transport, especially when handling specialized cargo such as refrigerated goods or hazardous materials. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in compliance with federal regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during route driving. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and delivery operations. Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks preferred. Familiarity with operating various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Prior experience in load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment is a plus. Knowledge of safety standards related to freight transportation and vehicle maintenance.
