Job Description

Job Duties:
The Town of Huntertown is seeking a full-time Street Department Utility staff member. Duties include any task related to the Street Department, including but not limited to the following: Operating Street Sweeper, Sealing/Patching roads and streets, Repairing and replacing signage, Mowing Town-owned property, Changing/replacing Hometown Hero banners, Tree trimming, Snow Plowing, Fall leaf pick-up, Vehicle Maintenance, Maintenance of Street Department and Residential Yard Waste Site, Maintenance and repair of sanitary sewer lift stations, and assisting the Water and Wastewater Utility which may include: Maintenance and repair of water/sewer mains, flushing hydrants, Locating Town-owned utility infrastructure, and other duties as they arise.
General Purpose:
The Town of Huntertown has the following four classifications for utility workers based on years of service/licensing. Accepted license include IDEM issued water/sanitary sewer related licenses and any class of CDL. Utility Person # 4: $20.37/hour (New hire - no license(s)) Utility Person #3: $23.25/hour (No licenses) Utility Person #2: $27.10/hour (1 license/foreman) Utility Person #1: $29.48/hour (2 licenses) Full-time positions are offered medical, dental, and life insurance. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Utility workers are expected to respond to emergency situations as needed after hours.
Qualifications:
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED; posses a valid Indiana Driver's License; pass a background check; and pass drug and alcohol screenings. Applicants must also have good communication skills, not be convicted of a felony, and must be physically able to perform job functions, including standing for up to 8 hours a day and being able to lift 50+ pounds. Priority given to applicants with an Indiana-issued CDL and/or Wastewater/Water Operator license. Previous experience in a municipal setting is preferred.
Pay:
$20.37 - $29.48 per hour
