Commercial Drivers License A Truck Driver

Job Overview Join our team as a CDL A Truck Driver supporting sawmill operations. In this role, you'll be responsible for transporting logs, cants, and finished lumber products between job sites, vendors, and our mill. This position is focused on efficient, safe hauling with minimal downtime — you'll load or unload your truck as needed and get back on the road to keep material moving. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks to haul logs, cants, and finished lumber products. Transport materials between logging sites, the sawmill, and customer locations. Load logs using a knuckleboom when required. Operate a loader or forklift to unload materials at delivery or return locations when needed. Secure loads properly (chains, binders, straps) to ensure safe transport. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain equipment safety and compliance. Maintain accurate logs of loads, mileage, and delivery details. Communicate with dispatch and yard personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries. Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Ability to operate or willingness to learn knuckleboom trucks, loaders, or forklifts . Experience with load securement (chains, binders, straps) required. Strong understanding of safe driving practices, especially with heavy or oversized loads. Ability to work independently and stay productive. Physical ability to handle chaining, strapping, and occasional equipment operation. Preferred Experience Log hauling or sawmill-related transportation Flatbed or log trailer experience Equipment operation (loader or knuckleboom)
