Job Summary Join our dynamic forestry team as a Skidder Driver and become a vital part of efficient and sustainable timber harvesting operations! In this energetic role, you will operate heavy equipment to transport logs from the cutting site to loading areas, ensuring safety, precision, and productivity. Your expertise will help streamline the logging process. Pay is based on experience. Will operate a JD 648L Skidder on tracks and wheels depending on job. Duties Operate skidder machinery to safely extract logs from forested areas, navigating challenging terrains with precision. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on skidder equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Engage in heavy lifting tasks and operate other heavy machinery like Caterpillar excavators as needed for site preparation or cleanup. Experience Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as skidders, excavators, or loaders in a forestry or construction setting. Mechanical knowledge of forestry machinery and troubleshooting skills to address minor repairs or issues. Experience with GPS systems for navigation and logging routes in rugged outdoor environments.
