This energetic role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and dump trucks. As a key player in our logistics network, you'll be responsible for delivering freight efficiently and safely across long distances or regional areas, ensuring timely load & unload operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Must have 2 years experience of driving a class A vehicle. Position is 1099 only! Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including manual transmission trucks and specialized trailers such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks. Drive long-haul OTR routes or regional routes, adhering to all federal and state transportation regulations. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules while complying with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle inspections. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or safety concerns. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record. Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route driving. Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Experience with freight load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods. Ability to navigate diverse routes confidently across regions or nationwide for OTR assignments. Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial trucking and cargo securement standards. Strong physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
