Roles and Responsibilities:
Move trailers and other equipment around the yard and between staging locations Ensure that trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading Assist with loading and unloading of trailers Conduct regular vehicle inspections to maintain its safe operation, identifying and reporting any mechanical or electrical issues that require attention. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized yard Communicate with team members and management to ensure efficient operations Recording daily trailer locations and reporting to supervisor. Ensure proper cargo securement procedures are followed based on company policies. Operate trucks safely, following all traffic laws and adhering to company policies and procedures. Adhere to safety protocols, such as wearing seat belts and personal protective equipment when required. Communicate courteously with other drivers, pedestrians, and road users. Drivers are required to maintain their trucks in a clean and organized condition. Secondary responsibilities will include job tasks supporting the Receiving and Transportation departments. Other assigned dutiesRequirements:
HS diploma/GED preferred 3+ years working experience as a truck driver required. Valid Class A CDL required. Tanker endorsement preferred. OTR flatbed experience required. Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles required. ELD (Electronic Logging Device) experience required. Clean and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Advanced knowledge of truck maintenance and repair, including identifying and reporting any mechanical or electrical issues A proven track record in safety excellence is required. Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries. Ability to read and interpret load manifest Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations. Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment. Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values. Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed. Complete company compliance and safety training when required. Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment. Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following: Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times Standing and walking for long durations Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of timeSimilar jobs in Solomon, KS
