Duties Safely operate trucks with manual transmissions, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles. Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Drive on assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns. Manage documentation related to deliveries, including delivery manifests, load sheets, and route logs. Maintain communication with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or unforeseen delays. Assist with securing cargo properly for transport and ensure compliance with safety standards during transit. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving environments. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles comfortably and safely. Experience handling various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tanker liquids, or heavy equipment like dump trucks or roll-off containers. Ability to load & unload freight accurately while following safety protocols. Knowledge of route planning and navigation for efficient delivery schedules. Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading cargo at facilities. Strong understanding of transportation safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
