Job Description

Job Summary Join our team in Shelbyville, a city known for its vibrant community and welcoming atmosphere. This role involves providing quality service and products to our customers in a timely and professional manner. As a Route Driver, you will operate a company truck to pick up and deliver hospital linen at multiple medical facilities. Responsibilities include loading and unloading laundry carts, establishing professional relationships with customers, and representing the company professionally in appearance, conduct, and performance. Ensure the safe operation of company vehicles, including pre and post-route inspections, maintaining DOT compliance, and following hours of service rules and standard vehicle operating procedures.
Schedule Days:
Monday through Friday (occasional weekends if needed).
Hours:
Start time is between 4 pm and 9 pm, depending on the route. 10-hour days. Essential Duties Have excellent attendance. Meet established route schedules. Possess good communication and customer service skills. Follow all company safety rules. Work well with a diverse workforce. Follow directions given by supervisors or managers. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Maintain a positive attitude. Keep a safe, clean, and organized work area. Deliver products to customers in a timely manner. Work past the schedule if production/delivery issues arise. Maintain required daily and weekly paperwork. Perform daily visual inspections of equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers. Additional Responsibilities Cross-train on other routes as needed. Move equipment to service providers for repairs and service as needed. Ability to push/pull soil/clean carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels). Consistently meet physical requirements such as bending, twisting, lifting, and pulling. Valid Class A driver's license. Adhere to all DOT, state, and local regulations. Maintain a clean driving record per company policy. Have six months to one year of experience. Availability to drive nights and weekends. Ability to speak and read the English language. Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead. Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs up to 10 hours per day. Ability to use repetitive arm motions.
