This role involves operating forklift, managing materials handling, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and supporting field laborer tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with trailer driving, forklift operation, and basic carpentry with a strong focus on safety and productivity. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting that values mechanical knowledge and OSHA compliance. Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials. Manage order picking to ensure accurate shipping and receiving. Load and unload trailers efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with materials handling tasks including heavy lifting, stacking, and organizing inventory within the warehouse. Drive loaded trailer with pickup truck to and from Indian Head, MD Warehouse Drive trucks to and from Indian Head, MD Warehouse Work at Jobsites (Various Locations on WMATA Metro Stations) Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs. Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment. Support construction operations by participating in various basic carpentry activities and maintaining organized work areas Collaborate with supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. Experience Demonstrated proficiency with forklift operation and pallet jack. Experience with heavy equipment operation including materials handling machinery. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols. Previous roles involving load & unload activities are advantageous including trailer driving.
