Your expertise in truck driving and vehicle handling will ensure smooth, safe, and timely movement of trailers to support our distribution operations. This position offers an energetic environment where your skills in manual transmission, route driving, and equipment operation will be put to great use, contributing directly to the seamless flow of goods. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions to move freight trailers around the yard and loading areas Load and unload trailers using forklifts, roll-off trucks, or dump trucks as needed, ensuring proper handling of freight including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and freight shipments Position trailers for pickup or delivery following designated routes and schedules Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to verify safety standards are met before movement Assist with securing loads on flatbeds or tanker trailers, ensuring compliance with safety protocols Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, load status, and yard activity logs Collaborate with warehouse staff and drivers to coordinate trailer placements and pickups efficiently Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driver roles Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles and various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks Hands-on experience with forklift operation for load handling and trailer positioning Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload processes Prior work involving yard management or tractor-trailer maneuvering preferred Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting freight, hooking/unhooking trailers, and performing safety inspections Join us as a Yard Jockey and become an essential part of our logistics team!
