This role involves long-haul driving across various routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight. The ideal candidate will have experience with different types of trailers and freight, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and roll-off trucks. This position offers an opportunity for drivers to operate tractor-trailers over extended distances while maintaining high safety standards and customer service excellence. Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across long-distance routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies Load and unload freight efficiently and safely, utilizing forklift or other equipment as necessary Drive a variety of trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks Manage route driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency and safety Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and compliance with DOT regulations Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit Qualifications Valid CDL license with appropriate endorsements for tractor-trailer operation Proven experience in truck driving, especially in freight delivery across long distances (OTR experience preferred) Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks Prior experience with load & unload operations using forklifts or other equipment is a plus Strong knowledge of route driving best practices and safety protocols Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely over extended periods and diverse terrains Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents in recent years Physical ability to handle the demands of long-haul trucking including lifting heavy loads when necessary This role is ideal for experienced drivers committed to safety, efficiency, and professionalism on the road.
