This position is also required to inspect and maintain all assigned equipment. The Equipment Operator's title may be specific to their trade and titled as such (Equipment Operator (Storage), Equipment Operator (Marina) etc.) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Marina Forklift Operator Responsibilities include: Operating a forklift while removing boats from a dry storage rack of multiple levels and transporting them to other racks and to and from the water Pulling boats off of the forklift into the water and pulling boats from the water onto the forklift, which involves lifting and pulling of often heavy loadsManage space availability for boats in the basin and secure boats to the dockPerforming daily inspections of forkliftsGreeting customers when arriving and departing the facilityFueling forklift and performing preventative maintenance, which requires lifting, bending, pulling, and pushingOccasionally required to reconfigure metal rack beams and bunker boardsPerform regular general clean-up/maintenance of docks and warehouse areas: sweep/mop floors as necessary, empty trash regularly, keep spaces clean and clear of debris, ensure a presentable and customer-friendly atmosphere, etc.

Police grounds and parking lot to keep free from debris.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Adhering to and enforcing safety policies and standards per O.S.H.A and other regulatory agencies, and Grand Isle Marina training guidelines Availability requirements: A flexible approach towards working times is requiredNights, weekends and Holidays and special events are requiredSeasonal employment Technical and Physical Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required2-3 years' relevant experience preferredHeavy forklift experience and certification preferredAbility to ascend and descend a ladderAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to lift 50 poundsBasic boat handling skills preferredMust possess a valid drivers' licenseAny skills considered standard that a Equipment Operator should possess Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.

Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
