Job description Company Overview Cougar Sales & Rental Inc is a family-owned and operated business specializing in contractor equipment sales, rentals, parts, and service. Since 1968, we have been committed to providing top-quality products and comprehensive support to construction professionals in our local community. Job Overview We are seeking a #2 Truck Driver to transport construction equipment and materials across various job sites. This role involves operating a range of trucks, towing trailers and towing equipment to ensure timely delivery and pickup of freight. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with different trailer types, and a focus on safety and efficiency. You would be driver #2 and a CDL is not required. A chauffeur drivers license is required. Experience towing and backing up trailers is a must. When you are not driving you would be helping in the shop, loading and unloading equipment. Helping keep everything clean and organized. Loading and unloading supplies. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks with automatic transmissions across designated routes Load and unload construction equipment and materials using appropriate tools such as forklifts when necessary Drive various truck types, as well as tow trailers and equipment. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route progress or issues Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to promote a safe working environment Assist with securing loads properly to prevent damage during transit Skills Proven experience in truck driving and towing Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles Knowledge of ratchet straps as well as chains and binders to secure loads Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods Strong understanding of freight handling procedures for construction equipment and materials Excellent driving record with experience in commercial driving environments This position offers an engaging opportunity for individuals committed to safe driving practices and reliable service delivery within the construction industry.
