CDL-A Short Doubles Driver - Gravel/Aggregate

Overview We are seeking a skilled CDL-A Short Doubles Driver to join our team. This position involves operating tractor-trailers with short double trailers, primarily focusing on route driving and delivery within regional areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy haul commercial driving, including gravel, sand, aggregate, salt, etc. Safety, reliability, and professionalism are essential qualities for this role. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with short double trailers across designated routes with emphasis on heavy haul experience Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment and techniques Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle Communicate with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) with a clean driving record. At least 2 years experience as a heavy haul truck driver or in a similar role Ability to operate various types of trucks, including Super trains, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers. (Must have 2 years of experience with short doubles carrying Gravel, Dirt, clay, etc.) Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries Physical stamina to load and unload freight as needed Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed Expected hours: 40 - 65 per week (varies during frost laws)
