Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The truck driver position is responsible driving trucks or tractor-trailers for collection services to ensure that various materials are transported and disposed of in an appropriate manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operate heavy commercial trucks, tractor-trailers (including tankers) Perform required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provides required reports Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations Maintain and follows all required certifications and safety policies required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs Maintain various records and/or logs as needed per DOT Regulations Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles or informs Driver Lead of maintenance items needing scheduling Wash, lubricate and fuel vehicles Pick recyclable materials from incoming loads Carry out site grounds maintenance including; picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control. Perform building and other stationary equipment maintenance Assist in landfill operations in addition or absence of other qualified operators
WORK CONDITIONS
Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

Have a valid Minnesota CDL Class A Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid health card and license Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Driver must be 21 years old per DOT.
