  • Full-time, Contract Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team.
In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles hauling sand, dirt, and gravel across designated routes. Your expertise in handling various trailer types—including belly dumps and end dumps—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmission across local routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment. Transport a variety of freight types, including sand, dirt, and gravel. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure and after delivery. Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and minimizing delays. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any unforeseen issues during transit. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and delivery operations. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks comfortably and safely. Experience handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar equipment preferred. Knowledge of load securing techniques and freight handling procedures. Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading freight at warehouses or job sites. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to trucking operations and cargo transport regulations. Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment as needed; must pass health screening requirements for commercial drivers.
