Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Tow Truck Operator and become a vital part of our roadside assistance and vehicle recovery services! In this energetic role, you will operate specialized tow trucks to safely transport vehicles, assist stranded motorists, and ensure efficient vehicle recovery operations. Your mechanical aptitude, driving skills, and customer service expertise will drive success as you respond promptly to emergencies and deliver exceptional service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your automotive knowledge while maintaining safety and professionalism on every call. Duties Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely Assess vehicle conditions using automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to determine the best recovery approach Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate tools such as forklifts or manual techniques, ensuring safety standards are met Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, motorists, and dispatch teams during roadside assistance calls Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment, including flatbeds, winches, lights, and safety devices, performing basic automotive repairs when necessary Manage conflict situations professionally by remaining calm and resolving issues with tact and diplomacy Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, loads & unloads, and vehicle details for reporting and compliance purposes Qualifications Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, mechanical repair or mechanic work is highly desirable Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating tow trucks or heavy-duty vehicles preferred Strong mechanical knowledge of manual transmissions and automotive systems Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods Familiarity with automotive repair procedures and troubleshooting techniques Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict effectively in high-pressure situations Prior experience operating flatbed tow trucks or similar equipment is a plus Physical ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual tasks, and work outdoors in various weather conditions Join us as a Tow Truck Operator where your skills will keep vehicles moving smoothly!
