CDL Driver Class A - Seasonal

OBJECTIVE / ACCOUNTABILITY

The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for safely and professionally operating commercial vehicles to transport and deliver goods, materials, and products to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner. This role is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and vehicle care while supporting positive customer relationships through courteous, professional, and service-focused interactions. The Driver serves as a key representative of the company by ensuring reliable deliveries, promoting safe work practices, and contributing to an exceptional customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate and Drive Commercial Vehicles:

Safety operates and drives Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods. Follow prescribed routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely arrival.

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance:

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they're in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or defects to fleet management for repairs. Preform minor vehicle maintenance tasks as necessary (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure).

Recordkeeping and Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date driving logs, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times. Complete and submit all required paperwork, including delivery invoices and manifests. Ensure compliance with electronic logging device (ELD) requirements.

Customer Service:

Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups. Address customer concerns or issues promptly, escalating when necessary. Ensure that all deliveries meet customer expectations regarding the timing and condition of goods.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations, including hours-of-service requirements. Maintain a clean and safe driving record with no major violations.

Vehicle Cleanliness and Organization:

Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring that it is presentable for customers and in good working condition. Ensure the cab and cargo are free of clutter and hazards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a valid CDL Class A, with the appropriate endorsements for the vehicle being operated. Must be 21 years of age or older (per DOT regulations). A clean driving record, with no major violations in the past 4 years. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screenings and ongoing random drug testing. Strong understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Strong attention to detail, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and documentation. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience, or completion of a reputable CDL training program. Familiarity with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices (ELDs) is preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to drive for long periods and cover extensive distances. Availability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, or holidays, as needed. Physical ability to load and unload cargo, including pushing / pulling heavy items.
