We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team and play a vital role in our paving and civil construction projects.
Position Overview:
The Class A CDL Driver is an essential member of our asphalt paving and civil construction team. You will be responsible for safely transporting materials, equipment, and personnel to job sites, supporting our paving and construction operations. Your role will directly contribute to the success of projects such as roadways, highways, parking lots, etc.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Safety Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe driving and work practices. Ensure truck and equipment are properly maintained and safe for operation. Report any safety issues or concerns to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Representative. Follow traffic control crew instructions and adhere to safety standards.
Work Responsibilities:
Operate a Class A CDL vehicle to transport materials (e.g., asphalt, gravel, equipment) to and from job sites. Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment at the job site. Ensure timely and safe delivery of materials to meet daily production schedules. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure proper maintenance. Communicate effectively with the crew to ensure smooth operations. Assist with other tasks on the job site as needed, including flagging and setting up traffic control devices. Follow the direction of the Foreman and assist in paving operations when needed.
Requirements:
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Minimum of 2 years of experience driving heavy equipment or trucks, preferably in the asphalt paving or construction industry. Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and withstand extreme weather. Flexibility to accommodate last-minute schedule changes, location shifts, and overtime as needed. Willingness to travel for out-of-town work. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness and a commitment to adhering to company policies and safety standards. Ability to work well with a team and maintain a professional, cooperative attitude.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. 2 or more years of experience in the paving or construction industry preferred. Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once. Valid Driver's License and ability to meet Driver Qualification Standards. Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold. Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle. Exposure to outdoor construction environments, including dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
