Job Description

FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION
The front desk associate's main responsibility is to provide an exceptional guest experience while completing Veridea's sales-related requirements. The successful front desk associate will provide guests with concierge-like, solution-oriented service, while acting as an in-house sales representative. This will also be driving shuttle, which will also require a good drivers license that can be approved on our Insurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Act as a concierge for guests. Possess a knowledge of the facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area and the community's offerings to effectively assist guests. Interact with guests in a sincere, professional, and courteous manner, going above and beyond normal responsibilities to do what it takes to ensure absolute guest satisfaction. Act as an in-house sales representative for the hotel. Engage with guests, capture relevant information, and distribute it to hotel management staff for contract negotiation. Completes all reporting requirements issued by Veridea Hotel Management Team. Utilizes sales techniques to effectively sell the property, maximizing occupancy and avg. rate. Register and process guests promptly upon arrival and departure. Performs all guest accounting functions according to established hotel operating procedures to ensure all guest and house accounts are complete and accurate. Adheres to all established credit and inventory control procedures to minimize exposure to loss of revenue. Receives and processes phone & walk-in reservations accurately to ensure guest satisfaction. Resolves guest issues, complaints, or problems. Professionally and competently operates the phone system according to Veridea standards. Acts as team leader on duty in the absence of management staff. Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests. Proactively seeks out other duties and responsibilities to effectively benefit hotel operation. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken; also, provides potential solutions to the problems noticed. Proactively looks for opportunities to improve operations. Adheres to all company policy and procedures, safety procedures, Health Department, and other regulatory requirements. Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 1.
Meets sales requirements. 2. Quickly learns front desk technical procedures such as: check-in, check-out, selling skills, computer operation, telephone operations, etc. 3. Operates computer or cash register to handle monetary transactions and give correct change. 4. Works well on multiple tasks at the same time. 5. Possesses strong organizational skills and strong detail orientation. 6.
Physically manipulates equipment such as:
cash register, computer, credit card machines, telephone console/switchboard, calculator, etc. 7. Reacts quickly and adjusts to different guest situations. 8. Copes with stress, shows self-control during difficult situations. 9. Accepts directions and priorities from supervisor and reliably follows-through on tasks. 10. Friendly and cheerful; interacts easily with strangers. 11. Cooperates with and supports others. 12. Grooming and appearance must meet Employee Handbook Standards.
REPORTS TO
Front Desk Associates report directly to the Front Desk Manager or if Front Desk Manager is not present the General Manager.
