Full-time Position Summary:

Transport and transport coordination between plants and outside finish sources.

Position Responsibilities:

Must understand operation of truck; perform daily inspection and report safety / maintenance issues. Supply frames to Webbers and Springers based on production schedule. Organize, sequence, and tier frames for delivery to outside finish sources. Pro-actively assist in quick response delivery time for frames behind production schedule. Coordinate with upholstery teams to meet shipping requirements. Properly store tools and supplies at the end of each shift. Maintains neat and orderly truck cab and trailer. Wears required safety glasses and foot wear; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Supervisor. Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Must have current driver's license, correct Class for type of truck (B 26,000#) Must have safe driving record. Must have ability to learn quickly and recognize parts.

Physical demands and work environment:

Lift / Carry / Overhead lifting: Occasionally lifting various weights between 1 to more than 100 lbs.; over 50 lbs. use team lift or tools; i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck, for greater weights.

Climbing:

Must be able to frequently use DOT steps to climb in / out of truck or trailer.

Balance/ Bend/ Stoop/ Crouch:

Occasionally modify body position during loading / unloading.

Reach / Handle

Grasp:

Repetitive use of hands required. Must be able to lift / lower for loading and unloading items onto or from truck or trailer.

Tool Usage:

Must be able to use tools to safely perform transport; i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck, load ramp, load lamps, use of wheel chocks, etc.

Environment:

Combination of Outdoors/Indoors and exposure to weather elements.

Automation:

Provided automatic load ramps at some docks.
