Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Flatbed Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks to transport goods efficiently across various locations. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse management will ensure timely deliveries and smooth distribution processes. Responsibilities Operate flatbed trucks with precision, adhering to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure safe transportation of goods. Load and unload materials using equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo. Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on heavy equipment like lift trucks and Hi-Lo forklifts to maintain optimal performance. Coordinate with warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate order picking, shipping, and receiving documentation. Assist with order picking tasks using pickers or other warehouse tools to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Support warehouse distribution activities by managing materials handling processes and ensuring timely delivery schedules. Maintain detailed records of shipments, equipment repairs, and safety checks while complying with OSHA standards for heavy equipment operation. Skills Proven experience operating flatbed trucks in a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures. Skilled in the use of various equipment including reach trucks, clamp trucks, forklift, Hi-Lo, pallet jacks, and load & unload techniques. Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting issues promptly. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations for weight measurements and load calculations accurately. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively.
