Responsibilities Operate Lowboy trailers equipped with flatbed or specialized hauling features to transport oversized or heavy loads across various routes. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure and compliant cargo handling. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to guarantee safety standards are met before each journey. Plan efficient routes for delivery or pickup assignments, considering traffic, weather conditions, and load specifications. Drive tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations related to commercial driving. Safely load, secure, and unload freight such as construction equipment, tanks (tanker loads), or refrigerated trailers when applicable. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, load details, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating Lowboy trailers or similar heavy-haul equipment. Skilled in driving manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types including flatbeds, tanker, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Experience with freight load & unload procedures using forklifts or other lifting equipment. Knowledge of route planning and navigation for long-distance or local deliveries. Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks. Strong safety awareness and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations.
