Agency Dept of Agriculture , Consumer Services Division Agriculture Consumer Service Job Classification Title Vehicle/Equipment Operator II (S) Position Number 60012758 Grade NC05 About Us The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness, and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The Department employs approximately 2,000 employees. Description of Work The Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional wellbeing of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA foods to eligible Recipient Agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA. Duties involve the transportation and delivery of USDA foods to various agencies (covers 42 counties) throughout North Carolina. Some overnight travel is required. Selected applicant will be subject to a reference check, driver's license check, criminal background check, and Job Ready Services Fit Test. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range-$33,902-$55,590 Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license (Class A CDL) and meet commercial driver's license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds of force using a pallet jack when necessary. Must be able to lift/stack a minimum of 50 pounds. Must have good customer service skills and experience.
