CDL Driver (Wildland Fire)

Duties Safely operate Type 2 Tactical Water Tenders. Conduct routine inspections of vehicles before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed in wildfire zones. Drive in challenging conditions often encountered during wildland fire responses, maintaining alertness and adherence to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Assist with maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and equipment to keep vehicles operational in remote or rugged environments. Collaborate with firefighting teams to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely support during wildfire suppression activities. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues and perform routine maintenance. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently under demanding conditions. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, precision handling, and adherence to regulations during emergency response operations. Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and working in outdoor environments for extended periods. Knowledge of safety protocols related to wildland fire response logistics and transportation.
