MATERIAL HANDLER/DRIVER II SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Material Handler/Driver II provides technical guidance and support to Warehouse Worker employees engaged in receiving, storing, distributing supplies, and the transporting of equipment to schools and other locations throughout the district. The incumbent exercises independent judgment and initiative in their daily tasks. The incumbent assists in training novice personnel and exercises oversight responsibilities for special projects, performing as the lead role in scheduling the movement of relocation requests and training employees in the use of forklifts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES RECEIVING
Receives shipments delivered by vendors, stores as prescribed by established procedures, and distributes supplies and equipment to schools and other locations throughout the district. Verifies shipments for defects or damages, completes proper documentation and reports information to the Supply Technician. Determines proper storage location either in picking area or storage rack. Labels product and conveys by forklift, electric pallet jack or hand truck. Receives parcels to be distributed to administrative offices, departments, or schools following proper procedures for documentation and delivery. Performs quality checks on orders before delivery. Exercides independent judgement to inspect surplus furniture and determines condition and appropriate action for reuse or disposal. Ensures all district tags are recorded and sent to the proper departments to update district databases on location and disposal.ORDERING
Receives and fills supply requests from stock and loads items for delivery, ensuring appropriate entries on delivery forms, stock records and other related documents. Verifies shipments and loads against supply requests including product and quantity. Convey shipments to storage area by hand truck, electric jack, or forklift. Fulfills product delivery to district sites ensuring proper handling of items during the loading, transit, unloading, and storage process. Operate trucks up to five (5) tons to transport requested items to and from specific destinations.RELOCATION REQUESTS
: Coordinates scheduling with departments or school personnel to ensure district policies are followed and ensure all parties are aware of the relocation. Analyzes relocation requests to determine safety constraints, size of the relocation, equipment needed, transportation requirements, manpower and time constraints. Priorities workload and projects to meet deadlines and the needs of district sites or departments. Uses independent judgement to inspect property and equipment to determine condition and recommend proper disposition of property. Responsible for identifying hazardous material with respect to disposing of equipment.LEAD GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT
: Trains new drivers on all routes and covers routes when drivers are out. Trains employees on use of all types of forklifts and how to properly forklift pallets into the racking locations. Guides warehouse employees on how to properly store inventory. Provides directions on how to properly pick up and safely transport shop equipment, pianos, and large heavy furniture. Inspects trucks and equipment on a regular basis, identifies needed repairs and notifies appropriate individuals. Maintains equipment logs for forklift and electric jacks. Maintains vehicles and equipment and performs preventative maintenance. Manages relocation requests including scheduling the requests and assigning staff to conduct them.COLLABORATION
Collaborates with schools, departments, the Warehouse Manager and the Supply Technician. Collaborate with the Music Department for equipment going back to their cage, Property Control for disposal of property, IT for electronic environmental waste, and all departments and schools for relocation requests. Answers phone calls to the warehouse. Coordinates dates and times on Relocation Requests that work for schools and departments involved.ADDITIONAL DUTIES
: In absence of the Supply Technician, provides coverage in processing orders and conducting cycle counts through the Inventory Management System when needed. May be responsible for alarm system operations in the absence of the supervisor. Performs other warehouse duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience:
Two (2) years of progressively responsible delivery driving and general warehouse experience in a position comparable to Warehouse Worker Driver 1 required.Licenses/Certificates:
Possession of a valid Nevada State Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with a driving record acceptable to the district required. Ability to obtain a forklift operator evaluator training certificate required.COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES

Operate light auxiliary equipment such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
