Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, professional team player to assist the Transportation Team in the capacity of organizing, coordinating, and prioritizing workflow and daily activities in the department. This position will have a dual role of providing administrative support and driving morning and afternoon bus runs as needed. As a driver, complete all transportation required documentation for the assigned run and vehicle. Responsible for notifying Transportation Services no later than the next working day after receiving a summons for a motor vehicle moving violation, or being involved in a reportable motor vehicle collision. This notification responsibility is required even if the incident occurs in the driver's personal, rented, or borrowed vehicle. Responsible for completing Transportation Services Vehicle Collision Report for all vehicle collisions. Responsible for the successful completion of training courses as scheduled by Transportation Services. Responsible for the safe passage, comfort and proper supervision of passengers being transported between assigned points. Responsible for bringing ill and/or injured passengers to the onsite RN upon arrival at the agency in the morning, or before embarking in the afternoon. Responsible for completing Incident Reports as required by Quality Assurance policy. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of assigned vehicle. Exhibit a high degree of competence and responsibility for the safety of passengers being transported. Performed driving responsibilities in professional manner and in accordance with all the regulations specified in the New York State Vehicle & Traffic Law. Maintain paper and electronic records; such as, vehicle mileage log submittals, fuel usage, vehicle repair vouchers, purchase requests, personnel records, etc. Assist with the maintenance of vehicle collision records, corresponding with insurance carriers and repair vendors. Submit electronic and/or paper purchase requests through the agency purchasing processes. Assist with the initial interview screenings and reference checks for new job applicants, including scheduling interviews. Maintain route manifests including updating contact information for all riders per route. Maintain statistical data on services provided. May be requested to perform other duties as they relate to Agency operations. Assist all department members with projects or needs as they arise

Friday/flexible Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will: High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred. One to three years administrative or clerical experience required. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to operate basic office equipment. Proficient with computer programs and applications including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Outlook. General knowledge of Putnam County and surrounding area a plus. Must have a valid New York State driver's license that meets the insurable criteria of the agency's automobile insurance company. Must have or obtain and maintain an acceptable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (Class C or higher) and comply with all DMV 19A regulations and requirements, including DOT physicals and Drug & Alcohol testing
