Lead Ice Technician/Zamboni Driver World Ice Arena Corona, NY Job Details Full-time $21 - $24 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Operations management Equipment repair Schedule management Attention to detail Delegation Full Job Description Overview Join our dynamic team as a Lead Ice Technician and Zamboni Driver, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining pristine ice surfaces for our skating facilities. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead ice maintenance operations, ensure safety standards are met, and deliver an exceptional experience for skaters and visitors alike. As a key team member, you'll combine technical expertise with leadership skills to keep the ice rink in top condition, fostering a lively and welcoming environment for all guests. Duties Operate and drive the Zamboni (ice resurfacing machine) to maintain smooth, safe, and high-quality ice surfaces throughout scheduled shifts. Lead and supervise the ice maintenance team, assigning tasks and ensuring all procedures are followed efficiently. Conduct regular inspections of the ice surface to identify any issues such as cracks, rough patches, or debris that require attention. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on Zamboni equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Coordinate with facility management to schedule resurfacing times that minimize disruption to skating sessions and events. Enforce safety protocols for staff and guests, including proper use of equipment and adherence to rink rules. Maintain detailed logs of resurfacing activities, equipment maintenance, and safety checks to ensure compliance with operational standards. Maintain facility and fix minor reapirs Qualifications Proven experience operating Zamboni or similar ice resurfacing machines is highly preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively. Excellent knowledge of ice surface maintenance techniques and safety procedures. Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting heavy equipment, and working in cold environments for extended periods. Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards. Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and facility staff. Certification in equipment operation or safety training is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is expected.
