Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Seasonal Food Service Driver, where you will play a vital role in delivering fresh, quality food products to children in our community. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving expertise with excellent customer service skills. Your enthusiasm and reliability will help us maintain our reputation for exceptional service during busy seasonal periods. Responsibilities
  • The daily delivery of approximately meals to multiple different sites located across the city of Jamestown, Lakewood and Frewsburg NY.
  • Pickup and delivery of supplies, ice or food as needed and as directed.
  • The lead delivery driver follows directions to ensure that delivered food maintains safe serving temperatures during the entire delivery process.
  • Keep required records related to delivery, driving, and pickups according to timelines and directions from supervisor.
  • Ensure vehicle fleet is being maintained properly by regular inspection and advisement on maintenance to the supervisor.
  • May at times assist the broader meal team with packaging/assembling of meals.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to be an approved driver of YMCA vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift coolers filled with food and/or milk above 50lbs.
  • Must be able to manage details of delivering meals accurately and on time in a manner that ensures everyone's safety.
  • Must be a team player that practices good, respectful communication conducting oneself according to the YMCA standards, keeping in mind we are active role models for our youth workers.
Experience Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is highly preferred, especially within food service or retail environments. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks regularly throughout the shift. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus. Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety standards related to food transportation.
