Job Description

Job Summary The Ambulette Driver / Patient Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of patients to and from medical appointments and facilities. This role requires strict adherence to all safety standards, New York State regulations, and company policies, with a strong emphasis on patient care and customer service. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Customer Service (Primary Priority) Provide respectful, compassionate, and professional service to all patients Assist patients safely in and out of vehicles, including wheelchair securement Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff Report and document any patient concerns, incidents, or service issues Transportation Duties Safely operate ambulette vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies Transport patients to and from appointments in a timely and efficient manner Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles Maintain accurate logs, trip records, and required documentation Keep vehicle clean, sanitary, and in proper working condition Safety & Compliance (Critical Priority) Follow all New York State and company safety regulations for non-emergency medical transport Properly secure all passengers and mobility devices using approved equipment Follow all infection control and sanitation procedures Immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or violations Participate in required safety training and compliance programs Maintain full compliance with drug-free workplace policies Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory - No Exceptions) Valid New York State CDL Class C Driver's License with Passenger (P) Endorsement Clean driving record (subject to DMV review) Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening Ability to participate in random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug testing in accordance with company policy and applicable law Ability to pass background check Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in ambulette, medical transport, or healthcare CPR / First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong customer service background Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment (50-250 lbs with assistance) Ability to assist individuals with limited mobility Ability to work in various weather and environmental conditions Work Expectations & Accountability Must report to work on time and complete assigned routes Must follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements Failure to maintain CDL status, refusal to submit to drug testing, or violation of safety policies may result in immediate termination
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
