Job Description
Position Summary:
The Class B CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting aggregates, spoil, containers, tools, and service materials to and from job sites. This role requires strict adherence to DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards while ensuring timely, efficient delivery and protection of materials, equipment, and job sites.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Safely load, secure, transport, and deliver materials and equipment to designated job sites. Verify load accuracy, including material type, quantity, and container condition prior to transport. Operate roll-off, hook-lift, hoist systems, tailgates, and hydraulic equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Plan and follow efficient, compliant routes in accordance with DOT regulations, local ordinances, and seasonal weight limits. Maintain accurate documentation, including tickets, bills of lading (BOLs), delivery confirmations, and required photos or signatures. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete DVIRs, and promptly report any vehicle or equipment issues. Maintain vehicle condition, including cleanliness, fueling, and ensuring required equipment (e.g., tarps, spill kits) is available. Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding delivery status, ETAs, delays, or job site conditions. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements, load securement, site procedures, and overhead clearance checks. Safely navigate active construction sites and work collaboratively with field personnel and other company divisions. Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Valid Class B CDL with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Valid DOT Medical Card. Minimum 3+ years of CDL driving experience, preferably in construction or heavy civil environments. Experience operating equipment such as tri-axle dump trucks, roll-offs, hook-lifts, or service trucks. Knowledge of load securement, tarping, and safe material handling practices. Familiarity with ELDs, Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, and basic DOT compliance requirements. Ability to identify and handle common construction materials (e.g., aggregates, asphalt, spoil). Strong communication and reliability in a fast-paced, field environment.Preferred Experience:
Tanker (N) endorsement for water, fuel, or service trucks. HazMat (H) endorsement a plus. Experience with quarry operations and scale procedures.Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle. Frequent climbing in and out of vehicles and onto equipment. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials up to 75 pounds. Ability to perform physical tasks such as tarping, guiding loads, and securing materials. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and construction environments.Work Environment:
Primarily operating commercial vehicles with frequent stops at construction sites, yards, and project locations. Exposure to outdoor conditions, including noise, dust, traffic, and varying weather. Fast-paced, safety-focused work environment with coordination between dispatch, field teams, and operations. Standard work hours may include early starts, overtime, and occasional weekend work based on project needs.What We Offer:
