Route Backup Driver's perform all of the same functions of a Route Service Sates Representative, but they do not have a set customer base. Duties include providing excellent route service through the pick-up and delivery of uniform and linen services, and other ancillary products to business customers. Other responsibilities include filling in for absent RSRs and other tasks as requested by the Route Manager. Essential Functions Route Backup Driver will drive a truck along an established route and service an existing customer base. Verify daily that all systems are in order before deliveries, including performing and documenting pre-trip and post trip inspections of vehicle and checking paperwork to make sure everything is in order. Manually loading and securing full and empty carts/product onto truck. Conducts linen counts and orders per customer requirements Delivers cleaned laundry to the customer, including operating the truck lift gate, handling the unloading of carts from the truck, and placing carts in the appropriate location Maintains the security of truck cargo by repositioning carts as needed between deliveries and pickups Upholds cleanliness standards by keeping clean and soiled items separate, as dictated by our certifying agencies. Verifies all items specified in the delivery receipt were included in the delivery, and obtain a confirmation signature from a facility representative. Upon finishing scheduled deliveries and pickups, return to plant and unload soiled laundry carts for processing. Prepares the truck for the next shift, including making sure equipment is fueled and clean, removing any personal items, and putting keys and delivery receipts in proper areas. Occasionally performs a supplemental delivery, as needed or requested. Responsible for growing our existing customer base by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services. Controlling inventory all while working professionally, safely, and complying with all Liniform policies. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with a variable schedule as agreed upon with the Route Manager. Saturdays, overtime, and the occasional schedule adjustment may become necessary to accommodate business needs. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. The employee will usually work in outdoor weather conditions.
