Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and reliable Semi Truck Driver with 1 to 3 years of local driving experience to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks, to deliver freight efficiently within the local area. Your expertise in manual transmission driving and route management will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate semi trucks with manual transmissions across designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Deliver various types of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo efficiently within the local area. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and incident reports throughout each shift. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, pickups, and address any issues promptly. Assist with loading or unloading freight when required, utilizing proper techniques to prevent damage or injury. Skills Proven experience driving semi trucks with manual transmissions in a local setting. Knowledge of operating different truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Strong understanding of freight handling procedures including load & unload operations. Ability to manage route driving efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Familiarity with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo when necessary. Excellent driving record with a focus on commercial driving safety practices. Physical ability to handle freight loads and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
