CDL - Shuttle Driver Job Description

OVERVIEW

: Home Daily Schedule Monday through Friday with some Saturdays Competitive Wages Competitive Benefit's Package Primarily responsible for exercising safe driving practices ensuring their safety and the safety of the public. Responsible for loading and unloading the truck according to established standard operating procedures (SOP).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

: Shuttle Drivers utilize company trucks to safely transport product between our Canton and Winesburg, Ohio locations in a safe and secure manner. This position is responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety and DOT Regulations. Inspect assigned vehicle daily, complete DOT regulated inspections and submit documentation daily. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws and regulations, agency rules, standards and guidelines. Ensure secure load before movement. Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards. Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor. Clean and wash truck as necessary. Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

: Minimum 21 years of age. Valid Class A CDL with 1-year with a satisfactory driving history. Minimum 1 year of driving experience. Knowledge and follow Department of Transportation (DOT), State and Federal laws, and company safety policies and programs. Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to climb in and out of trucks. Basic math functions and skills. Wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). High School Diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work in an outside environment (including inclement weather) daily. Sit and drive for up to 10 hours and climb in and out of the truck cab throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment. Work may occasionally include lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and squatting.
