In this role, you will safely transport participants to regional destinations, provide a welcoming and professional experience, and help each trip run smoothly from departure to return. Required Education and Experience :
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Two (2) years of driving experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience driving larger vehicles. Knowledge of Southern Oregon. Familiarity of Southern Oregon destinations.
Available Schedule:
Schedule varies based on trip dates. Shifts are typically 8 to 10 hours, depending on travel distance, and are generally scheduled on weekdays. Compensation & Information on Benefits The anticipated hiring range for the Day Tour Driver position is $19.92 (first step) to $20.91 or $21.96 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
INCLUDED BENEFITS
Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) retirement contributions paid by employer for part-time, year-round positions. Paid sick leave•one (1) hour accrued for every 30 hours worked. Access to the City's fully equipped fitness center 24/7 Examples of Job Duties These duties are a representative example; position assignments may vary depending on the business needs of the department and organization.
This position:
Operate the City's vehicle to transport participants to and from destinations in accordance with established safety standards and traffic laws of the State of Oregon. Arrive at destinations on schedule. Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays. Use navigation applications to determine the best route. Interact with clients professionally at all times. Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use. Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; notifies supervisor of any vehicle repairs as needed. Administers general first aid when needed. Performs minor housekeeping tasks in vehicle to assure vehicle presents a positive image. Scope of assigned area will depend on departmental structure and is at the discretion of the Recreation Supervisor or designated staff. Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation. Demonstrate good written communication skills. Must have the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace. Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities.
