The Department of Transportation is looking for a motivated PennDOT CDL Operator Trainee who is ready to learn and grow in a hands-on environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps support highway and bridge maintenance by learning to operate equipment and perform important hands-on tasks. As a PennDOT CDL Operator Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

Equipment Training:

Train to operate trucks, loaders, and maintenance equipment safely and correctly

Tool Use:

Handle both motorized and non-motorized tools such as shovels, rakes, saws, and tampers

Safety Awareness:

Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment to keep yourself and others safe

Work Area Monitoring:

Watch for hazards and report injuries, accidents, and unsafe conditions immediately

Environmental Practices:

Carry out environmental protection steps required during maintenance activities

Operational Checks:

Learn to perform and document equipment inspections and make minor adjustments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent. All employees must possess an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit on the first day of work. All positions require employees to possess an active Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations by the first day of work.
