Yard Jockey

Yard Supervisor Job Summary:

The Yard Jockey will be responsible for moving trailers and other equipment around the yard, ensuring that they are properly positioned for loading and unloading, and assisting with general labor duties to support daily yard and shipping operations.

Responsibilities:

Move trailers and other equipment around the yard using a yard truck Ensure that trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading Hook and secure precast concrete panels and other products to travel lifts for safe movement throughout the yard and onto trailers Assist with loading and unloading of trailers as needed Perform daily safety checks on yard truck and lifting equipment and report any issues to management Perform general labor duties including yard cleanup and other physically demanding tasks as assigned Assist production and yard personnel with operational tasks as needed Maintain a clean and organized yard Communicate with other yard personnel and management to ensure efficient operations

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and clean driving record Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a yard truck or similar equipment Experience working around precast concrete products, rigging, or lifting equipment preferred Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and safety procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

The Yard Jockey will primarily work outdoors in all weather conditions. This position involves physical labor and prolonged standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting throughout the shift.
